What it is

Two lives, one story, and the photographs and clips that make a reception or anniversary feel unmistakably personal.

Why it works

Two lives. One perfectly timed reveal.

There is a moment at every wedding reception when the room goes quiet, the screen lights up, and two lifetimes of photos start telling the story of how these two people found each other. The childhood pictures. The cringeworthy college years. The photo where you can tell, before they knew, that this was it. I build that moment.

I create love story montages for receptions and rehearsal dinners, and anniversary films that celebrate 25, 40, and 50 years of a marriage with the depth those decades deserve. After 20 years of making them, I can promise you this: nobody remembers the centerpieces. Everybody remembers the film.

The Two-Lives-Into-One Structure That Makes Wedding Montages Work

A wedding montage is really two films that merge. The strongest structure I have found in 20 years runs each person's childhood and growing-up years side by side, so the room watches two separate lives on parallel tracks. Then the timelines collide: the first photo together, and everything after. Built this way, the 'together' chapter lands with real weight, because the audience just watched everything that led to it.

Anniversary films flip the formula. Fifty years of marriage is not a highlight reel, it is an epic, and the best anniversary montages I make lean into the texture: the honeymoon slides, the questionable 1970s fashion, the kids arriving, the house, the grandkids. When the children commission these as surprises, there is usually not a functioning tear duct left in the room, and that is exactly the job.

I'll be honest, I hesitated at the price. Then I watched it. I would pay it again without thinking twice. You're not paying for editing, you're paying for how it makes everyone feel.

The process

Every film follows the same simple path. You tell me the story. You send the meaningful photos and clips using the transfer method that works best for you, usually Google Drive or Dropbox, though whatever you already use is completely fine. No perfect organizing required. I shape the story, sequencing, pacing, music, and polish. You review it, and I deliver it ready for the big screen. You send the meaningful pieces. I shape the story. Asked and answered

Questions about wedding films

When during the wedding should the montage play?

The most common slots are during the rehearsal dinner, during dinner service at the reception, or just before the parent dances. Rehearsal dinner showings tend to get the best full-attention reaction. I will format the file for your venue or DJ either way, and I am happy to coordinate with your planner.

How do we gather photos from both families?

We choose a shared Google Drive or Dropbox folder, or another transfer method both families prefer. Parents, siblings, and friends can all contribute, and I handle the organizing. This also keeps the montage a surprise from the couple, or from one side, when that is the plan.

Can you restore old wedding photos and slides for an anniversary film?

Yes. Anniversary projects almost always involve older media: faded prints, slides, and photos of photos. Restoration is part of my process, and the restored originals from a 1970s wedding are usually the images that get the biggest reaction in the room.

How far in advance should we book a wedding montage?

Six to eight weeks ahead is comfortable, and wedding season dates go quickly. That said, I have saved more than a few last-minute situations, so if your date is close, ask before you panic.

Can this be a surprise gift for our parents' anniversary?

Yes, and these are some of my favorite projects. Adult children gather the photos in a shared folder or use another transfer method that keeps the project discreet. We build the film quietly, and it premieres at the party. If you want a moment your parents will never forget, this is it.

What if our photos are scattered across phones, albums, and relatives' houses?

That is every project, honestly. Send phone pictures of album pages, invite relatives to add files to a shared folder or use another agreed transfer method, and do not worry about duplicates or order. Organizing chaos into a story is the actual service.
